As I digress, yes I love the idea of supplements. I said, “the idea” because I always struggle with staying consistent as I’m not really into taking a pill everyday. However, I got a dope lineup of dietary gems that can be implemented anytime to kick my glamour magic routine up another notch. See what I’m working with below
Remind you of anything? The Vital Proteins Hydration + Collagen pack is one of the easiest to consume products in today’s lineup. I’ve already added the Tropical Blast flavor to my Brita filter in an effort to boost my glamour magic. I thought putting it in my water would make it easy. Turns out nothing is easy and this stuff doesn’t taste the greatest. Maybe if i added it to the standard sized 16.9 fluid ounce water bottle it wouldn’t taste so bland? I might try that with the Lemon Lime pack, I’ll be back with an update.
I grabbed this pack of bareBeauty’s Superfood Blend on clearance at TJ Maxx (I think, maybe Marshall’s). It was only a few bucks and I added a sprinkle of it to to my oatmeal once (oops). I’m not going to lie it looks intense. According to Walmart’s website, “bareBeauty is a medley of nutrient dense Superfood…with essential with essential Vitamins, Fatty Acids, Proteins and Antioxidants. This lovely superfood blend is crafted to support your skin, hair and nail health and your overall wellbeing”. I should really try this more…
Pictured here is some Ashwagandha, cod liver oil, and Nature’s Truth Liquid Hair, Skin & Nails, amongst an array of probiotic, prenatal, iron, and folic acid tablets. I still haven’t taken it consistently enough to decide if I’ve really seen a difference. The taste of the “natural berry flavor” isn’t the best neither but it’s tolerable and nothing tastes as good as beauty feels–suck it up Butter Cup!
Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that helps to calm and relieve stress, I’ve tried it in liquid form before and I enjoy it. It has a unique smell and taste so a little will take you far. I took the Cod Liver Oil for a little bit but they’re huge so, again heavy on the “little bit”. The Folic Acid and prenatal vitamins are nice to grow your hair and nails but for some reason I believe the prenatals affected my period and broke me out. I’m aware sometimes vitamins require you boosting your water intake, I just don’t think a prenatal really serves me right now. If you’re anemic like me you probably have some iron pills laying around that you never take but have around just because (I’m so naughty). When it comes to the probiotics I actually only have three out of the original sixty pills left. Even though I took them often, I still can’t say if I feel they affected my gut, stomach, digestion or skin in any way.
While I have a history of pretty much buying supplements to take on a whim and then adding them to my egregious collection, I admit I have been interested in doing a detox/cleanse for the past few weeks. I have the privilege of being able to eat what I want, so I don’t have weight loss as an incentive. However, I really want to clear my skin and my head. I’ll eventually get around to it but in the meantime, here’s some supplements to consider if you’re a more health conscious glamour magician than me.
