Welcome back to Glamour Magick Beauty. With the start of Libra season, let’s talk beauty and skincare. I’ve been keeping my skincare routine simple and consistent. However, as much as I swear by masking, I do believe the benefits of toners are often overlooked.
Of course when picking a toner always look at the ingredients list. Toners come in all strengths and abilities. Some are stronger than others and some are just for hydration or a refreshing pick me up. These choices are great for day time skincare. Stronger toners are often called, “astringents” and tend to have more acids in them to help with dark spots, texture and acne. These are great for your nighttime skincare routine. There’s something out there for all skin types and concerns so take your time doing research and don’t feel pressured to go for a high end product first.
- 1. BeautySkin’s Aloe & Rose Squeeze Facial Mist. I picked this up at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx for under $5. This is your standard hydrating pick-me-up. A great option for those with sensitive or low maintenance skin. Or, again just the girl looking for a smell good refreshing boost throughout the day. It’s small and gentle enough to be used anytime any place. Spray on.
2. Clean & Clear’s Lemon Juice Toner. I promise it’s not as harsh as it looks. It gives astringent vibes but it doesn’t burn, sting or smell strong. I use this day and night. I believe it’s gentle enough to use daily (my skin is on the oilier side) but if you find it a little drying maybe try every other day.
3. Alba Botanica’s Acnedote. This is the strongest out of the three and you’ll find, “deep clean astringent” on the bottle. It was already deep cleansing and left a tingly feeling but then I added lactic acid to help peel and fade my skin. It does burn a little bit, I only use this as not and definitely not daily. At most I’ll use this twice in a week.
What are some of y’alls favorite toners? Any Libra season skincare goals? Let me know in the comments. In the meantime, check out my latest Glamour Magick Beauty Podcast episode.
