Welcome to Glamour Magick Beauty. Winter is coming, but where are you going with your skincare routine? The colder months can be just as harsh on the skin as heat in the Summer, thus we usually find ourselves having to make some adjustments to our beauty rituals. Whether you’re a rookie or a vet to seasonal skincare, here’s some tips to think about as Winter approaches. Let’s go!
The obvious product that most of us will have to update is our moisturizer. I plan to face the harsh cold temps with heavily hydrated skin thanks to my Vitamin E cream. I used it sparingly in the Summer as it’s on the heavier side but it’s perfect to use on the regular for keeping the skin plump and complexion even in the cold. Preserve your sexy y’all!
The Fall and Winter seasons are awesome for incorporating acids into your glamour rituals due to less Sun exposure outside. Of course don’t make the same mistake I did and go overboard but adding a mild acid into your alcohol-free toner can do wonders for resurfacing and brightening your skin! Lactic, glycolic and salicylic acid are some of my faves and can be easily ordered to your front door but I’m not a dermatologist so I beg you to please be careful. Again, I was slightly too aggressive and my lactic acid toner burned me!
Water, Consistency, Rest
Ahhhh Our dear old friend, Consistency. I find that keeping it simple and consistent with top notch ingredients really and proper hydration is the key to skin success. I’ve kept up the basics such as cleansing twice a day, masking at night and drinking plenty of water. Other crucial hygiene habits that I’ve maintained that I remind you to not forget is to use clean wash cloths, exfoliate about once or twice a week, and sleep on clean pillow cases. Get your hydration easier and faster from fruits and veggies such as grapes, pineapples, cucumbers, celery, romaine and tomatoes.
Lastly, remember you need sleep! This is the easy part for me as cold weather makes me want to hibernate.
